Publishing Guide

Introduction to Publishing

iDetailAid can publish the same content to a number of endpoints including Veeva (for use in mobile CRM) and custom iPad applications.

This section details how content is published from iDetailAid.

In order to publish a presentation or presentations, a publish job must be created and certain options set or selected.

Entering Publish Version Details

A publish job must be created which consists of the following details:

  • Publish Name
  • Description of presentation(s) or changes made to content

Both of these fields are required to successfully publish a presentation.

Tip

If the changes being made to the publish job are minor then a user can select the View current version details dropdown and click Reuse these details which populates the publish information with the previous live details used. These can then be edited as required.

Sending a custom Email Notification

Every time a publish job from iDetailAid is successful, a custom notification email can be sent to one or more recipients.

To send an email on successful publish:

  1. Enter an email address or addresses in the Recipients box. Multiple addresses can be separated by a comma.
  2. Enter the message you would like to send to these recipients upon successful publish in the Message box.

Note

This email notificatin will not send if the publish job fails. However, regardless of whether a publish job is successful or fails, the logged in user will receive a system generated email informing them of the status.

Publishing Presentation(s)

All presentations that are available to publish are listed under the Presentations To Publish section.

To publish a previously unpublished presentation or changes made to a previously published presentation:

  1. To the right of the presentation, move the Publish slider to On
  2. Click the Publish Changes button
  3. Click OK on the resulting Warning window

To publish all slides in a previously published presentation, whether they have been updated or not:

  1. Make sure the Publish slider to the right of the presentation is set to On
  2. Make sure the Force Publish checkbox is selected.
  3. Click the Publish Changes button
  4. Click OK on the resulting Warning window

Note

When integrated with Veeva, changing the Publish slider to Off and publishing a presentation, the presentation will NOT be removed from Veeva.

Tip

If a slide exists in more than one presentations, it will be updated in all presentations regardless of whether the 'Publish latest changes' check box is ticked or not. If you do not wish this to happen, please use the duplicate slide functionality to create a separate instance of the slide and include this version in the presentation.
